SEATTLE SCI UNIT

Northwest PVA celebrates the Christmas spirit with a catered Prime Rib Meal & fixings to all SCI inpatients, their family, and the SCI Staff on duty. We conclude the celebration with inpatients & SCI Staff receiving Christmas gifts to promote patients' morale and for the SCI Staff to continue superior inpatient services.

Northwest PVA sets up a three year contract through Comcast and donates $14,000 for WIFI installation throughout the Washington State Orting's Soldiers Home Nursing Building, providing adaptive communications in “Celebrating 30 Years of the ADA.

Annually, Northwest PVA places a Memorial Day remembrance wreath at every Veteran monument on the Washington State Capitol grounds, and at Seattle's Garden of Remembrance.

During COVID-19, 2020; Northwest PVA donated $15,000 for 17 new medically sealed TV's for Seattle VA COVID-19 Unit being built for Covid-19 patients.

Northwest PVA, through a generous grant "In Memory of the Z-Man", helped to build and produce a multi-purpose accessible van with a 1000-pound rear entry lift for Seattle's SCI Recreation & Therapy Department.

Paralyzed Veterans of America’s G.I.V.E. Clothing Donation Program

Through the Paralyzed Veterans of America’s G.I.V.E. (Goods Inspiring Veterans Everywhere) Clothing Donation Program, service never goes out of style. Your generous donations of clothes, small appliances and gently used household goods help improve the lives of severely injured Veterans and strengthen the fabric of our community. Plus, your donations are tax-deductible – a receipt will be issued upon pickup or drop-off.

Donation Collection in Washington State:

  • Counties Covered: Snohomish, King, Pierce and Thurston.
  • Pickup Appointments: Call and speak with our PVA G.I.V.E. representatives to see when we’ll be in your neighborhood or to schedule an appointment.
  • Pick-Up Instructions: For liability reasons, PVA G.I.V.E. pick-up services cannot enter homes or dwellings. All donated items must be placed outside your location and/or near the curbside with a label or tag stating “PVA G.I.V.E. DONATION.”

    Trap Shooting: A Day of Camaraderie, Competition, and Clay Pigeons!

    Sharpen your skills and prepare for an unforgettable day of marksmanship and fun—because the Northwest Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (NWPVA), in partnership with the Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman’s Club, is bringing back the long-awaited Trap Shoot Competition!

    On June 28th, Sportsmen and Sportswomen will gather at the Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman’s Club in Puyallup, WA, where the thunderous crack of shotguns will echo through the air as participants take aim at flying clay pigeons. Whether you're an experienced shooter or a first-time participant, this event promises a thrilling challenge, great company, and a welcoming atmosphere for all. This event isn’t just about who has the best eye and reflexes—it’s about community, competition, and connection. Designed to be fully accessible, the trap shoot welcomes wheelchair participants and their families. So, whether you’re taking your best shot or cheering from the sidelines, there’s fun to be had by everyone!

    🎯 Here’s what you need to know:

    Date: June 28th, 2025. Please arrive by 9 am.

    • Range Briefing: 10 am, Paul Bunyan Rifle Sportsman’s Club Staff
    • Location: Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman’s Club, 17902 Meridian E. Puyallup, WA 98375
    • Capacity: 30 total participants
      • 20 spots reserved for wheelchair shooters.
      • 10 spots for Caregivers or Family Members.
    • Format: Two rounds of shooting (shotgun rounds are provided).
      • 12 & 20 gauge shotguns will be available onsite for participants.
      • You can also bring your own shotgun & ammo.
      • Each participant will fire 25 shots per round (50 total).

    No cost to enter— Just bring yourself and Family Members for a fun-time event.
